We founded Capability Jane Recruitment in 2007 to fill a gap in the market for a specialist recruitment business that focuses on sourcing talented executives on a part-time or flexible basis. Our origins stem from tapping into a pool of talented women and men who leave the corporate world in search of roles that offer more flexibility, and from working with innovative growing businesses and teams looking for exceptional talent but not on a full-time basis.
When we launched in January 2007 our mission was to:
- Build the market place for organisations to access exceptional executive talent seeking part-time / flexible working opportunities.
- Help organisations access, attract and recruit more women into their businesses and implement flexible working practices.
- Build a community and support network for professional people to maintain or return to a fulfilling career.
We continue on this mission to create the marketplace for high quality, senior part time roles within business, enabling talented individuals who want to work flexibly to remain in their careers. With a proprietary network of over 20,000 candidates Capability Jane delivers recruitment and talent pooling services to clients that deliver diverse, highly experienced, high- calibre candidates. No other recruitment company has the equivalent depth and breadth of market coverage for this new and emerging sector.

Sara Hill, Founder and Chairman
Sara Hill is the founder and chairman of Capability Jane. Sara works with boards and senior leadership teams to influence, engage and gain commitment to programmes that will transform ways of working and increase the number of women recruited, retained and progressed in the business. Before founding Capability Jane, Sara held senior roles in management consultancy (Ernst & Young, Stratevolve) and in industry (Montague, Virgin) in the UK and the US. Sara is an innovator and evangelist with a real strength for identifying market opportunities, developing solutions and bringing them to market. She is a passionate campaigner for diversity and flexible working (founder of The Job Share Project) and a frequent advisor to organisations, government, policy makers and media.
Gill Stewart, Managing Director
Gill is the Managing Director for the Capability Jane Recruitment business. Gill has over 20 years experience in the recruitment and staffing industry. She is a passionate advocate of ethical practice within the industry and as such is a subject expert author and chief examiner for the Recruitment and Employment Confederation (REC). Caroline is Senior Account Manager for Capability Jane Recruitment. She is a qualified HR professional with a postgraduate diploma in HRD. Caroline worked with Caledonian Airways where, amongst other things, she successfully headed up that company’s volume recruitment strategy. In 2000 Caroline joined HRi sourcing, providing HR talent at senior management and director level across all sectors, moving in 2003 to a business development role. In 2009 Caroline set up and successfully ran an HR consultancy offering generalist advice to SMEs before joining Capability Jane in 2012. Rebecca is a Client Account Manager for Capability Jane Recruitment. In the last ten years she has a gained a wealth of business development and account management experience from her time in both blue chip organisations and SME businesses. Most recently Rebecca headed up the Interim Division for a leading FMCG Marketing Consultancy where she felt passionately that ‘great people make a great company’. Rebecca has seen first-hand that companies who embrace innovative, part time or flexible ways of working are able to attract the best people and harness a great competitive advantage. Jennifer Brooks is a Client Account Manager for Capability Jane Recruitment. With a background in marketing, Jennifer has spent the majority of her career in Account Management and Sales Team Management. She spent 4 years at Thomson Reuters becoming UK Sales Director before moving into working with SMEs where she used her skills and experience to implement sales and growth strategies. Jennifer is passionate about working with clients to understand their needs and put in place flexible solutions that enable them to achieve their own business objectives. Linda is Senior Resourcing Manager and is an experienced head-hunter and executive recruiter with a track record of sourcing and securing senior executive talent for blue-chip clients across a broad variety of commercial industries including GSK, BP, Coca Cola, Vodafone, IBM, Microsoft, Credit Suisse and Barclays. Linda joined Capability Jane in 2008 and her specific area of expertise is in running diversity recruitment programmes and sourcing senior executive job share partnerships. Elspeth is Candidate Resourcing Manager. With a law degree and MCIPD accreditation, Elspeth has 12 years resourcing experience, gained from a variety of in-house roles across a number of sectors including property and financial services. Latterly she headed up the recruitment function at Henderson Global Investors Asset Management where she was responsible for all resourcing activity including creating and delivering a direct sourcing model, senior level hiring in the UK and overseas, and implementing their Graduate Programme. Elspeth is an experienced recruiter across all functions with expertise in assessment methodologies, interview technique and talent management with a specific focus on part- time, job share resourcing. Sandra joined Capability Jane Recruitment as Operations Manager. Sandra works to ensure the business needs, processes and systems are supported, including documentation and reporting requirements.
