Data and Analytics are increasingly being used in an External Audit context, delivering both bespoke and pre-defined analytics focused on increasing the quality and effectiveness of Audit techniques.
Our client is looking to grow their Analytics Team, which is driving innovation and collaboration on external audits. As a Senior Data Analyst, candidates will have the chance of playing a key role in rolling out the use of data and analytics to clients across the UK.
The role will involve processing large data extracts from client ERP systems via Extract, Transform & Load (ETL) tools and scripts, working closely with client IT teams to obtain relevant data. They may need to debug issues during the ETL process on large data sets. Then writing SQL queries on the data to pull reports as required.
Candidates will need to be able to answer technical questions regarding procedure results and adjust procedures for client system customisations.
They will participate in the design and development process, and implement necessary fixes and enhancements
They will document processes and procedures for users and administrators’ use, as well as for technical training purposes as well as train and manage less experienced team members
Candidates will have at least 3 years of relevant work experience in a Big 4 or consulting firm. Relevant work experience in IT services organisations will also be considered. They will also need a good knowledge of SAP or Oracle (or other large ERP) data extraction and experience of issues when extracting large data sets.
Excellent communication skills are required in order to be able to explain results to audit teams and work with them to understand any potential issues.
A Postgraduate Degree in Computer Sciences, or professional qualification in accounting (ACA or international equivalent) with relevant IT experience in ERP systems, Data Analytics or Business Intelligence would be advantageous
Locations: London, Manchester, Birmingham, Leeds, Edinburgh, Glasgow, Bristol, Reading
Salary: up to £60K FTE basic at regional offices and to £65K FTE basic in London
Car allowance of £4.5K plus bonus, profit share and a generous benefits package including pension, healthcare & medical for self and family
Flexibility: Full or part time options available - minimum 3 days a week
